The Federal Government's Future Tax System Report (Henry Tax Review) reviewed the national system to create a 'stronger, fairer and simpler' tax plan for the future. ACOSS response: A Fairer Tax System - Some important steps but further to go
ACOSS' response to the Federal Government's release of the Australia's Future Tax System report (Henry Report), which it claims will "set a framework for a fairer, more sustainable tax system for the Australian community", is now online. A number of its recommendations for the report were ruled out. Response is made by ACOSS on four key issues: superannuation, housing affordability, transfers and community services.
