Advocacy

LCSA actively represents members’ sector concerns with the Minister for Community Services’ office and policy makers. We continue to campaign strongly for increased and long-term funding of neighbourhood and community centres, effective measurement and accountability of the sector and   

We are a member of the Forum of Non-Government Agencies (FONGA) and the Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association (ANHCA), and participate in regular meetings with both bodies in representing sector concerns and issues on behalf of our member centres.

Alongside our NSW peak counterparts, the Youth Action and Policy Association (YAPA), NSW Family Services Inc (FaMS) and the Council of Social Service of NSW (NCOSS) we successfully ran the Community Services Grants Program (CSGP) funding campaign to improve state funding for neighbourhood and community centres. An extra $10 million CSGP funding was announced in the 2010 State Budget.
